(A Note from Jerry and Denise)
We recently received an email from someone who had read our book, “The Missing Commandment: Love Yourself,” a long time ago and shared that it was helpful to him in his healing journey. He mentioned that he had recently come across a “long-lost lyric” that he wrote at that time that was inspired by the truth that came from our book. He applied it to music and shared it with us and we really liked it! With his permission, we would like to share it here with you. To listen, CLICK HERE: http://bit.ly/4mzFzY9. The lyrics are included.

"I Should Love"
Written by Trevor Clements, Copyright 2025
Why would I hate
why would I judge
Why would I push someone down
Who God loves and adores so much
[Pre-Chorus]
The commandments in the bible
But I missed it from the start
It got choked out by the thistles
And the rubble in my heart
[Chorus]
I should love, love the one
Looking back at me in the mirror
The one God thinks so highly of
I should love, love the one
Told to love himself like his neighbor
For whom God gave his only Son
I should love, I want to love
[Verse two]
Why would I curse
Why would I strike
Why would I shun God’s own diamond
Who he just can’t take off his eyes
[Pre-Chorus]
[Bridge]
Jesus wore those thorns
And healed my shame
So he could see
A bright smile on my face
[Chorus]
